The activities of Chinmaya
Mission D/FW are made possible by the continuous support of our members and
well-wishers. If you are inspired by the work we do, please contribute
generously and become a part of our vision to accomplish the following goals,
among many others:
- Impart value-based spiritual education to children and youth.
- Vedanta classes for adults.
- Organize yajnas, camps and retreats.
- Celebration of all the major Hindu festivals.
We welcome your donations in cash or kind. There are a variety of
ways in which you can contribute to the mission. We are a non-profit
organization registered with the US government and all donations are tax
deductible.
Become a Chinmaya Mission Member
Join our family - members pay an annual membership fee of $50, which includes
the CMW newsletter, Chinmaya Prakash (our quarterly newsletter), adult study
classes and discourses by our Resident Acharya.
Become a Saaket Parivar Member
In Bhaja Govindam, Sri Adi Shankaracharya states that satsang (the company of good people) is the first step to spiritual realization. The Chinmaya Mission DFW Saaket Parivar is one such satsang - a group of members who support the activities of the Mission with their ideas and their financial support. Saaket Parivar members contribute $100 per month to the day-to-day operational expenses of the Mission. The Parivar members and their families meet once a quarter at a member’s house for dinner and satsang with our Resident Acharya. All members also receive an annual subscription to the Mananam Series publications from Chinmaya Mission. If you are already a subscriber to Mananam series, then you can choose to gift your subscription to a friend or family member.
Chinmaya Family Tree
Another method of supporting Saaket that was announced during the Annual Banquet of 2007 is the Chinmaya Family Tree. Our family tree will have the names of donors in three categories – phalam ($3000), pushpam ($1500) and patram ($750). A phalam donor can have up to 5 names of family members inscribed. A pushpam donor can have two names, and a patram donor can have one name inscribed. The donations can be made in two installments. The tree will be prominently displayed in the Saaket lobby after it has been unveiled by Swami Tejomayananda in 2009 on the occasion of Chinmaya Saaket’s 10th anniversary celebration. For more information please contact Sunil Maini, Venu Menon or Ramesh Kammath.
Donate to the Building Fund
Building expansion and major upgrades are paid through cash contributions made by members and other donors. The names of donors who contribute above $5,000 are prominently displayed on plaques in the Chinmaya Saaket building. For more information on donation categories please contact Ashok Dandekar at (972) 491-0018.
Your Grocery Dollars........
Many grocery store chains operate programs through which a certain
percentage of your cumulative purchase is donated to charitable organizations at
regular time intervals (quarterly, semi-annually, etc.). Our members and
supporters can now use the system to generate additional funds for CM D/FW.
1. Randalls Food Markets Inc. runs Tom Thumb, Randalls, and Simon David grocery store
chains. They operate Good Neighbor program. The account number assigned to CMD/FW
under this program is 8779. To use their program, simply
follow these steps.
- Visit any store and obtain a Reward/Remarkable card. Tom Thumb issues Reward cards.
Randall and Simon David issue Remarkable cards.
- Go to the Customer Service desk at any store and ask them to link your
Reward/Remarkable card to account no. 8779. Once your card is linked to
the CMDFW account, every time you shop at any of their stores, the amount of
your purchase will be recorded into CM/DFW’s account.
2. Kroger has supplied personalized cards with CM D/FW logo. Please contact Sandhya Gavva (972-491-0606) to obtain a Kroger card.
- Each time you shop at Kroger, present the card to the checker before they begin to
ring up your order.
- Ask the checker to scan your card. Once this is done, your purchase amount will be
recorded for CM D/FW.
Please ask your friends also to use these programs to help CM/DFW.
